2020 Toast of the Town

Cheers to 11 years of Synovus Toast of the Town!

On March 6, 2020 Synovus hosted their eleventh annual “Toast of the Town” at The Columbus Convention and Trade Center. This adult only event features two different culinary experiences in one night! From 6-8pm, guests were able to sample dishes and one-of-a-kind drinks from two James Beard Award winning chefs, John Currence and Vish Bhatt at the Aflac Culinary Experience. The Grand Tasting began at 7 pm. Guests were able to sample wines from around the world, dishes from local restaurants and chefs, and spirits and beers from local suppliers. Specialty vendors were also in attendance offering samples of their snacks, desserts, and sauces. If the opportunity to “taste and toast” from dozens of local options wasn’t enough- there was an AMAZING silent auction full of unique items and a raffle for a trip for two to the Oregon wine country. Every year, the proceeds of this event help benefit The Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

According to the Toast of the Town’s official website “Columbus Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1855 and was the second orchestra formed in the United States. Although they disbanded during the Civil War and both World Wars, they always reorganized during times of peace. In 1949, the organization as we know it today, was formed and has performed for 69 consecutive years. They employ up to 90 musicians and perform regularly at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.”
