With a rustic-themed wedding, this beautiful couple showed us the true meaning of love and support.

My favorite moment from our wedding had to be walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my husband-to-be for the first time while in my dress. He started crying when he saw me, which was surprising and really sweet because he never cries. That moment was special because it confirmed that he really was anticipating this moment as much as I had been.

We first met in March 2016 on, believe it or not, Tinder. Right before I was about to delete the app, Kurt messaged me from over a THOUSAND miles away, and I had no idea why. He soon informed me that he would be coming to my town within the next few months, and he was simply “looking ahead.” However, at that time, I had just lost my sister. We lost her due to a blood clot, so her death was sudden and unexpected. It was devastating to me and my family because my sister and I were close. This made me emotionally unavailable for him at the time, and I let him know that I could not be in a relationship; I just did not have it in me. He was really understanding and decided we could just be friends, and he would be an ear and a shoulder for me.

Over the course of the next few months, we skyped every other day. After he arrived in town, we started dating shortly after. After about 2-3 months of us dating, I woke up in the middle of the night crying from thinking about my sister. He got up without hesitation, sat next to me, comforted me, and then started praying for me. That is when I knew he was the one. I had never had a man do that for me, and although I knew it would never be the same without her, it felt like the piece I was missing had been filled. From there, we got closer and closer. Since then, throughout our time together, we have had many great adventures from traveling to room escapes, and even getting baptized. And now, thanks to our faith in God and love for one another, we finally get to share the rest of our lives together, and I can truly say that I am beyond blessed.
